Shoutouts Archive (3rd August 2020)

Not in Ontario, "B". It is celebrated, but if people want to attend the ceremonies, they have to take time off work. Not sure about banks being open, but I know that schools are. However, it could be a holiday in other provinces.

I thought Rememberance Day was still a holiday in Canada...

Lucky You Folk...It's often been said that it's a long...long...wait between the Summer Bank Holiday in August until Christmas!!!

Oh, we have another one - second Monday in October, as well (Thanksgiving in Canada) We also used to have one on November 11th but that was dropped.

Some have been campaigning for an Autumn Holiday in the U.K. for years, but so far no response!

Oh, we get another one just after that, first Monday in September. So we have three long weekends in the summer. School doesn't start till after the September holiday, so we get a nice long summer.

Enjoy your Holiday Helen, Our Bank Holiday used to be the 1st Monday in August, many, many years ago, until it was changed to the last Monday in August!
