Patch Taken To Vets *update 2*

Posted 23 Mar 2009

Well here we go... first upset of the lambing season.... We have found Patch, one of the shearlings, with a large proplapse just now and Howard has had to take here on to the vets for stitching.... It is most unusual for a sheep that hasn't lambed before to prolapse.

Not the best start to our 2009 lambing season. Patch, so called, because she has a black area around her eye, is a real pet and is friends with Lottie and company who are also due to lamb this year.

Update 1: Howard's back... it was Ron the vet again, that did the assiated birth on the archives... Patch has had an epidural and been stitched up.. she is lying in the trailer. Ron says she will be off her legs for an hour or two so when she is standing again we will put her in the barn for the night and see how she is in the morning.

Update 2: Patch is OK and is back in the field with her mates again. It's not all good news though as once a prolapser always a prolapser.... No need to say any more.

Oh I so loved Patch, when I went to the Open Day in May, she loved taking the bread from me. I hope she will recover, let me know how she gets on.

And Fifi, he is where? And the sheep, they sleep. Doesn't make much sense Daniel. Fifi a He? Where did you get that quote from?
