Billy Finally Gives Birth!

The birth of twins by Billy the sheep marks the end of the lambing season (in terms of getting up and checking sheep) 2008!

She took her time but she gave birth yesterday (Bank Holiday Monday) to a set of twins: one male and one female.

For some reason though she is not taking to the female - she loves the male but is rejecting the female a little bit so she is going a bit short of milk. We are topping her up with a bottle but she isn't that keen at the moment which suggests she isn't going tooo short of milk but we need to keep an eye on her for the time being.

Billy and offspring are currently wandering the yard where they have access to lots of nice grass and where we can keep a close eye on her. It is also quite close to the camera so when we feed the female its easy to rotate it and focus it on her.... see the highlights for the clip.
