The Kindle is an electronic device for downloading, storing, and reading electronic books, known as e-books. It was developed by a company called Lab 126 which is a subsidiary of Amazon. The Kindle has instant wireless access to Amazon and their huge number of e-books (over 115,000 and growing). You can read newspapers, subscribe to magazines and blogs, and even play audio files such as MP3s or audio books. The Kindle is compact and lightweight so it is easy to handle. Just think of it as a conveniently portable television for your books.
At Bargain-Bits we are pleased to announce the launch of the all-new Amazon Kindle to the UK market, which is now available for pre-order in the UK. The new Kindle has an electronic-ink screen with 50% better contrast, and offers 20 percent faster page turns, up to one month of battery life, a twofold storage increase to 3,500 books, built-in Wi-Fi, a new graphite colour and more - all for only £149, and still with free 3G wireless - no monthly bills or annual contracts.
Amazon has also introduced a new addition to its family of portable reading devices - Kindle Wi-Fi. Readers who don’t need the convenience of free 3G wireless can now enjoy the new generation Kindle for the lower price of only £109.
And for the first time, Kindle devices are available at Amazon.co.uk. The all-new Kindle and Kindle Wi-Fi are now available for pre-order at Kindle Wireless Reading Device, Free 3G + Wi-Fi, 6 and Kindle Wireless Reading Device, Wi-Fi, 6, and will be dispatched from the U.K. to customers from August 27.
Kindle has been the bestselling product in the United States for two years running, and is also the most-wished-for and most-gifted items on the US Amazon site. With the largest selection of the most popular books people want to read – not to mention the lowest prices of any e-bookstore in the UK - Amazon will launch the new UK Kindle Store on August 27. Customers will be able to choose from over 400,000 books, including New Releases and 87 of 100 Nielsen UK Bestsellers. Over 1 million free books are also available to read on Kindle.
