Patch Off To Vets Again

Patch Off To Vets Again

Posted 22 May 2009

Patch was taken to the vets this morning after having had her second prolapse. This is both very frustrating and unusual for a sheep to have a prolapse after giving birth. In fact this is the first time we have ever known it to happen. It is very odd. The sheep have recently in the past day been moved to another field so it makes me wonder if this has had anything to do with it but will keep you posted.

So sorry to read about Patch. I know very well how much vets charge but I also know that your sheep are much loved and you don't want any of them to suffer. Hope all goes well.

Patch is one much-loved but expensive sheep! I hope this problem can be resolved. And what happens to her lamb(s) while she is away? I hear pathetic little voices crying in the background!

Patch is now back, stitched up yet again after an epidural equivalent for sheep. Her lambs went with her in the trailer to the vets to reduce her stress and she is now back amongst her friends again and eating normally :)

Oh, terrific! I hope that's the end of her problems. Thanks for telling us about the lambs going along for the trip. They must have wondered what all that was about!

I am sure lambwatchers would contibute to Patch's well-being, just as they did to a new cam. Please let us know if she needs anything.

I wish I were there working hard on the farm, away from the apathy and whenging of the students I teach and their parents. Lambswatch has become my Zen. Thank you.
