More Expectant Mums!

More Expectant Mums!

Posted 06 May 2009

Last Monday just gone, we were all set to take the sheep that at first we thought was in lamb but turned out not to be in lamb (see previous news post) to market for selling. It was loaded into the trailer and everything, all ready to go.

Lynda said to Howard just before departing to market... "Just check its bag one last time to make 100% sure it really is not in lamb" and lo and behold it actually has a bag! This means that after all, it is in lamb and according to our calculations (taking into account when it was with a tup) we think it should be due to lamb on approximately Friday 15th May - at the latest!

There is a turn up for the books! So now we are, after all, awaiting our final sheep to lamb :)

That's wonderful news! Well done Lynda for suggesting the check....... and you thought you had finished.. :) Look forward to hearing about the birth.

A new baby! The others have got so big that it will be lovely to have a new little one around. But just when you thought you were done, more care, more getting up in the middle of the night, more work all round. Anyway, congratulations to Lynda for thinking of this, and to the expectant Mom for being so clever as to keep this a secret. Baby will be the darling of the flock. I look forward to seeing it!

I could so eaily have ignored this post as I just thought it was the same as the last post. No more expectant mums, but I noticed the wording was wrong so I clicked to read and I am so happy that the sheep in question is with lamb and not going to market. Hope all is well with her and that we get to see the little culprit on the webcam soon :) Thanks for the update :)

Does the expectant sheep have a name? Good job she didn't go to market - must be worth more pregnant than not.
maria on 13 May 2009 17:27

Any news on the expectant mother? Or is she just fooling us all?
Helen on 15 May 2009 03:22

Morning folks. Well it looks like after all the sheep isn't in lamb. Dad had a suspicion that the sheep was just very very fit and what we thought was a bag was actually just a very fatty bag! So I am afraid that the sheep will be off to market... that is unless it lambs today... but we think that is highly unlikely.
Dan on 15 May 2009 09:45

Oh poor sheep :(
Christine on 15 May 2009 18:10

Ah, well. Poor old girl, but that's life.
