Our UK visitors may already be aware of the earthquake that took place in England last night at approx 01:00AM UK time. The epicentre was in Lincolnshire but it was felt as far as Wales! Unfortunately, we didn't actually record the video and audio footage of the earthquake with the LambWatch camera as it happened. It would have been good to play back and see again (especially for those people who slept right through it (me being one of them!!).
The earthquake lasted about 10 seconds and has caused a fair amount of damage around the farmhouse (see pictures below). Just in case you don't believe me, here is the BBC news article about the earthquake. Judging from the news, it looks like some parts of the UK have seen quite a lot of damage to property.
Pics coming soon
I can't believe I actually slept through the whole thing as it would have been exciting to experience (if not a bit scary)! I remember the last time I experienced an earthquake in the UK was in September 2002 on the first evening of my University career! You can imagine the sort of response I received when I sent texts to friends and family with the words "There's just been an earthquake!" from somebody on the first night of their uni career.... They thought it was hallucination from booze but no, it was actually an earthquake then, centered in Dudley, Birmingham, which measured 5.0 on the richter scale.
