Any thoughts on what this strange flying creature is; spotted by LambWatch fan Alex in the early hours of Thursday morning? If you blink you would have missed! Well done Alex for spotting it and telling us about it via a LambWatch sighting - thank you! The thing was spotted at about 3:40am in the morning and was only in view for a split second and for this reason, the video clip has been slowed down by about 5 times so you can get a good look! Feel free to tell us what you think it is! It looks like it has some kind of forked tail to me, like a flying stingray... weird!

I would think that a bird was startled and flew in the dark.

My guess is one of your large pigeons startled, as Gini suggests, in the dark. The long tail suggests a woodpigeon, which look like the 747s of the pigeon family. The tail is turned sideways so it is hard to tell. Either that, or the lambs are developing wings! But it is a bird, so depending on what species you have in the area, you should be able to narrow it down.

Its too small to be a woopigeon I would guess its a blackbird.
