Lottie's Lamb Struggles To Walk

Lottie's Lamb Struggles To Walk

Posted 29 Mar 2009

Lottie's premature lamb struggles to walk. Its legs and muscles are very weak as it has not yet learned how to drink properly. We try to build up its muscles by trying to get it to walk around now and again but as you can see it is very weak and unstable. It spends most of its life in a basket in front of the fire to keep warm. If we leave it outside for too long it gets cold and even at the best of times, its mouth, which if warm is a good sign, is more often cold than it is warm.

I had the good fortune while hiking in the Lake District one Easter to see lots of lambs. Now my husband sends me links such as this one because he knows I love the little lambs. Good luck with this little one, hopefully with a little extra care he'll be bounding around with the others soon!

I'm sitting over two thousand miles away, In Guelph, Ontario, Canada, watching this fragile little bit of life struggle with life. With all that attention and TLC I hope he does well. I love your bird-feeder, too!
