Pointless but cool - Text LambWatch.co.uk!

Now you can send an SMS text to lambwatch!

Now you can post a message in LambWatch chat / shoutouts via your mobile! Pointless but quite cool! You get charged the standard network rate for your text messages and you can't read any responses yet but it's still quite cool if you just want to make a shoutout! I also plan to make use of this for other stuff too so any ideas are welcome!

To post a message in lambwatch chat via your mobile, simply text lambwatch followed by your name followed by your message! For example, to say "hello lambwatch!" my message would be:

lambwatch Dan hello lambwatch!

Then send this SMS text message to:

(+)447786202321

and your message will be displayed! Now you can say hello at lambwatch even if you're away from your computer! :D Go on, give it a try, you know you want to ;) This definitely works in the UK but is untested elsewhere. I would be keen to know if it works in other countries!!

If you are texting from anywhere other than the UK you should put a plus before the number. If you are texting from the UK, you can leave out the plus.

This is a great idea Dan.. if our computer goes down we can send a message to Chat to let other watchers know what has happened.

testing it out right now. we'll see if it works from the USA.

Check out the LambWatch Latest Visitors page!

Some of you may have already seen this page but it has just undergone a revamp to show more useful information!

Now you can sit back and watch the map and details pan and update with the latest visitor information! The map pans to the location of the latest visitor and the list updates with the latest 20 visitors...

... all automatically! So now you can sit back and watch as people land on the site... pointless but cool :)

If you look in the top right hand corner by the menu you will see a little icon (to the right of the contact tab. If you click this, a window will popup that just contains the webcam stream. This means you can click onto pages where the live stream does not show by default and, if you want, you can click this "popup" icon to display the live stream if you wish :)

It's also useful if you are at work or somewhere and want a more "discreet" view onto the webcam ;)

What a fascinating page to watch - I could look at it all day to see where in the world the  next visitor is coming from. 

 

Decisions, decisions....... watch the webcam or watch the world go by?  lol.

Thanks Dan... no decision to be made now... we can watch the webcam as well as the map..    way to go!!  This site just gets better and better.
