Farewell!

Posted: 21 Jan 2009 10:09:15

This is just a quick message to wish all the LambWatchers a fond farewell from me! On Saturday this week I shall be departing with Heather to South America, travelling from Santiago, Chile to Ushuaia, Argentina - the end of the world! I am very excited and shall be away for just under a month, seeing sights ranging from the heights of Villarica Volcano at over 9000 feet (will be climbing that too if possible!) to the plains of Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego. We will also be sailing along the Beagle Channel and around the Straits of Magellan, following in some of the footsteps of Charles Darwin!! It is going to be very exciting! Here is a pic of the route we shall be taking....

This page shows the full information about our trip!

I will be leaving LambWatch in the very capable hands of yourselves and my parents (although it should not need much looking after!). While I am gone, we have some new lambs due to arrive around the end of January so I am sure that you will be kept up to date on anything that happens in that department! If you have any questions, please use the forum to ask them as I obviously will not be able to answer them for a while :)

Tomorrow night, we shall be setting off a lantern at the farm to mark my departure and I will hopefully be able to post this on the channel 2 later on :)  Thank you to everyone for making 2008 a great success for LambWatch and look forward to keeping you all posted on the latest events on the 2009 lambing season! Best Wishes, From Dan xxxxxx

Next you have to go to Japan and climb Mount Fuji.  I am waiting for the result of that.  The bus will take you so far but the last part can only be done on foot

Lynda in London (ish), U.K. (27/01/2009 19:30:33):
I dont expect to hear from Dan and Heather now Cindy till they get home... they have started their trip down Chile today . according to the itinerary he left me, they have travelled south from Santiago along the pan-american highway to Pucon which is at the base of the Villarica volcano which they have the option of going up tomorrow or a walk in the rainforest at the foot of the volcano
