Exciting New Year News!

Posted: 05 Jan 2009 11:08:48

I have a potentially very exciting announcement to make!

Now nothing is set in stone yet and I am still in the process of configuring and confirming and there may be teething problems but, by the end of today, I hope to reveal the launch of...

The New LambWatch Channel!!!

This channel will play back some of the footage from the farm taken with the camcorder and, from time to time, will broadcast special features of events taking place "down on the farm" which happened off-webcam. That way, the webcam stream will always be live, and when something special happens off cam which has been captured with the camcorder, we can put  it on the special LambWatch channel!

Watch this space..... ;)

The new channel is all set ready to go live at 8pm tonight (so it will require a refresh in order to see the feature).

I have only one reservation and it is basically that the second channel will double the bandwidth of my Internet and it may result in both channels being quite jittery. Time will tell. But there are ways to get around this. We just have to wait and see what the affect of the new channel will have. Obviously if it results in the main live cam being poor even after a bit of fettling then we will have to take it down again but we shall see... time will tell! As with all things LambWatchy - tis a bit of an experiment :)

Cheers,

Dan

Maria, there is a little tv next to the Lambwatch sign.  When you put your cursor over it it says Toggle Channel.. Just click on it.

Thanks Dan.. we will look forward to watching the footage.  I was very impressed with your idea and it was really good to see the summer vids of the sheep and the haymaking.  You do realise that you are now competing with the programmes on tv?  lol.  Guess who wins?   :o)

It's not live at the moment Christine :) I ran out of footage to play and forgot to tick the "loop" box :)

It's funny you should say that Margaret - I was considering applying to Dragon's Den to setup "LambWatch TV" :P

You would really have your work cut out then Dan.... you would have to give up your day job and become film maker, producer, director and whatever else you need to make a Lambwatch TV channel.. ... you will have no shortage of volunteers to help out I'm sure.. lol

Ello Christine - Yeah I notice it is a bit, well a lot, jittery. My upload speed isn't great so it can't really deal with it at the moment. I have one more idea up my sleeve but can't test it out til tonight.
