Help With A Calculation
Posted: 28 Oct 2008 18:45:21
I am trying to work out how much power the webcam and microphone is consuming. Here is the spec of the webcam:
Power consumption: 150mA (700mA IR on)
Power supply: DC 12 V
Here is the microphone:
Power supply: DC12VÃ.±2V
Current: 30mA
And the computer which has it on has:
400Watt power supply
Obviously when it comes to comparing we look at devices like kettles, washing machines, televisions, alarm clock radios and video players with an "always on" LCD display...
Can anyone suggest how this compares to every-day appliances as I am struggling to work out how it compares.
Thanks in advance,
Dan

I wonder if you could get the electric company to sort it out for you? I live in an apartment but as the rules go, you have to leave the outside light on all the time. I've called them up and they told me it was only $1.50 per month for the light that is left on all night. Perhaps you could do the same?
