Were You There?

The annual "washing of the unclean" or the yearly skinny-dip in Wales was held recently.  Film showed a fairly large collection of naked souls charging into the waves.  Some of those attending were regulars who appear each year without fail.  Does anyone know what the water temp. is at this time of year?  If you were given a chance to participate do think that you would do so?  I think it would be heaps of fun and would be willing to give it a go even though I am not as trim looking as I used to be.        

I would probably turn blue dipping into the Irish Sea like that (it is the Irish Sea, isn't it?)  But it's no crazier than the group of cyclists I saw in Toronto last week, clad only their skins and a little body paint.  And it was not a warm day.

I would love to visit more of Wales than I have seen, but probably not to take a skinny dip in the sea.  I tried swimming off the south coast of Ireland once, and nearly died, it was so cold.  I guess I am a sissy.  Give me an Ontario lake in July - more my speed.

But if you have a yen for this, then go for it.  To each his (her) own.
