Woodland Trust Trees

I've been watching the Lambwatch video 2008 again and it is such a good and informative video.  The trees were shown on the first disc and I would be interested to know how they are doing now three years down the line.  How tall are they now and are they all in good health? :)

It would really be lovely to see them now.  I wonder if Dan, next time he is home, could take a few photos and post them for us?  I meant to look for them last year, but I don't think I saw them.

I can hardly believe that it is a year this coming week (May 19th) since I visited Marfield Farm - still, perhaps, the highlight of my whole trip to England in 2010.  I still can't believe that I actually bottle-fed a lamb, city-dweller that I am!  What fun!

This is the first time Ive been on Lambwatch for a good many days... it is so busy here. Tom and Gayle are now living with us at the farmhouse and we should be moving into the extension in about a month or so.

To answer you question, the trees are looking excellent. They have grown so well since they were planted and are thriving. If Dan gets a chance when he next comes north ( not sure when that will be ) , I will ask him to take some pics for posting  smiley

Thanks Lynda for taking time out from all that you have to do to let us know about the trees.  I didn't time the question very well :)

I'm very pleased to hear that all the trees are doing well and it would be great if Dan could take some pictures so that we can see them.

Hi,

Just wondered how the grass was growing with not having much rain.  I saw on the news things are not great for farmers because of the lack of rain.

Welcome back to the farm Tom and Gayle, must be your 1st anniversary soon.

Fi :)

Helen, in the southern tip of England (Cornwall) there is a farm attraction called "Springfields". When you get your tickets they give you a milk token for each child. For chldren this translates into bottle feeding a lamb. I whined for several years that the adults would also like this. Then they gave us milk tickets too but for us they sent in the goats! Nearly took your arm off!  All good family fun - I think.  The animals were obviously very experienced in such matters and wolfed any proferred bottle in sight.

Ha, ha, Maria, that's funny.  Well, goats are more aggressive little beasts, even though they are very comical.  I much prefer lambs, who seem more docile and wag their little tails in pure ecstasy when you feed them.

Anyway, I look forward to seeing the new trees (which aren't very new any more), since I forgot to look at them last year.
