The Sounds of Silence

The Sounds of Silence….

As some of us have noticed, the microphone is out of order on our favorite sheep farm.  No longer do we hear the call of the curlew, the twitter of the birds at the feeder, the sheep which are close by, Howard’s music in the evening, or the sound of the workmen.  Without it we will not hear the thin little voices of new-born lambs bleating for their mothers.

A new microphone was donated by several Lambwatchers in December, but high winds appear to have damaged the wiring, the audio board or the microphone itself.  Dan is not sure how serious the problem is, but will look when he is next at home in Earby.

This website, unfortunately, doesn’t run on a wing, a prayer and a little lambswool.   If the situation demands the purchase of yet another microphone, it will require Dan to meet that expense himself, but since this site is for our benefit and enjoyment, it occurred to a couple of us that perhaps some who are able might like to make a SMALL cash donation to provide Dan with a “purse” to meet expenses like this one.   This is more effective than making purchases through the Lambwatch Shop, where only a small amount from the purchase actually goes to support the site.

We know that some people simply cannot afford to make a donation, and we understand that.  But if you are able to give, would you please consider sending just a little donation in Pounds sterling, Euro dollars, or Aussie, Canadian or American dollars?  Here’s how:

Click on the “Features” tab at the top of this page, then go down that page to click on “Support”.

In the lower left corner of that “support” page you will see the heading “Donations”.  Along the bottom are five flags:  UK, USA, Canada, Australia and EU.  Click on your appropriate flag and a page from “RNSAlert” opens.  You can make a credit card donation, NO MATTER HOW LITTLE, from that page, making sure that you have indicated the correct currency of your country.

We think that a cheque for a small amount would also be acceptable, sent directly c/o Lynda Proctor at the Farm.

Thank you for taking time to consider how we can all share the expense of keeping Lambwatch the beautiful site that it is!

I'm just changing the title of this post (I hope) to make the message a bit clearer,
