Lynda actually wrote most of this.
All I did was suggest the first few lines.
The Owl and the Earwig posed for the cam
On a misty September night.
The Earwig did his stately dance
And blocked the Owl from sight.
Then Owl said, "Move out of my way,
I want to be admired."
The Earwig said, "I can't move fast.
I really am too tired."
"I wish that bug would move " said Owl,
"He really is a pest. "
" I won=t, " the Earwig cried out loud,
" It's a warm and comfy nest ! "
"You should be in a wall somewhere,"
The Owl was quick to add,
" It really is too much to bear,
You're making me quite mad !"
" I know " the owl thought one night,
" I'll try some >Yorkshire= speak...
Perhaps he doesn=t get me -
Or his hearing is too weak.
" Ey' up tha stoopid Earwig !
Tha mun gerrout of 'ere
Tha's gerrin int road, tha knows
Tha'll gerra clip round t'ear!!
"Nay 'eck" the Earwig then replied,
"Tha speaks t'same as me !
I'll shift me bum, then 'ave no fear
Then viewers'll see thee !!
Perhaps the next poem will be about the budding romance between Ludwig the Earwig and Gerda the Earwig.
Time will tell....
