Coming Soon: LambWatch Uncut 2009

Posted: 24 Jun 2009 20:53

lol :)

I have compiled together all this year's camcorder footage into a single DVD containing over 2 hours worth of uncut LambWatch footage from the highs and the lows of the 2009 season including the following:

  • Poor Lottie's Lamb
  • Sheep Birth Indoors
  • Checking Pregnant Mums In Barn
  • Feeding and Looking After Pet Lambs
  • Sheep Shearing

The DVD is made and I am just running off the first copy to see how it looks. Those of you who bought last year's DVD please don't be disappointed as I do not have the time to prepare a fancy cover or trailer like last year. This year's will be a straight forward simple blank DVD in a simple case.

I will let you know when the DVD is ready for ordering and further details coming soon. Just thought I'd let you know it's in the pipeline!

I would like one for historical/archive reasons but not sure if  I can deal with sad stuff like Lottie's Lamb.  Anything cheerful on there?

Its uncut raw lambing time stuff... everything is real. I guess the new born lambing (point 2), and the feeding of pet lambs (point 3) and sheep shearing is cheerful stuff!

I know I said this on chat, but I would love to receive a copy of this dvd please Dan.

I am looking forward to being able to watch it all over and over again.  Lovely memories even though some are sad.

Hi folks, well the DVD passed quality control (mum :P) and am all set to send out copies. I have added an extra bit on the end of footage of the contractor and my dad baling up and wrapping our grass which has been cut for the past few days. When we cut the grass on Sunday the weather forcast for the entire week was excellent. Sadly the reality was not so good so we had intended to make hay while the sun shone but instead we got silage / haylage. Anyway, there is about 10 mins footage at the end of the DVD of the machines used to do this so it might be quite interesting :)

As the DVD is not as fancy as last years (a blank DVD with no label - sorry folks!), and as there is only one disk this year, the pricing is as follows:

UK Payments By Cheque: £6.60
Please send a cheque made payable to Daniel Procter to:
Marlfield Farm, Dark Lane, Earby, Barnoldswick, BB18 6LB

UK Payments By Paypal: £7.00
Stupid paypal take 40p in fees! Please use the donate button on the support page (bottom left)

Abroad Payments By Paypal Only: £10
In equivalent currency - so thats about 17 USD, 19 CAD, 21 AUD, 12 EUR.
Please all foreign currency purchases please use Paypal as the banks charge me a stinker per cheque for foreign currency. Again, please click on your currency flag on the support page (bottom left)

All prices include Postage and Packing and in all correspondance, please include your name and address so I can send it to you! Obviously for UK buyers, cheque is preferable as it means big fat cat paypal get no benefit from the transaction. Also, stocks of DVDs I have are very very low so once I have exhausted my supply I will have to get hold of some more which could add a day or two onto the time it takes me to send out.

Any questions, please ask! :)

Hi all, thank you for the interest in this! Hopefully those who have ordered their DVD should receive it tomorrow or Friday! I would welcome your feedback on the DVD! Which bits you like, which bits you didn't etc :) There are plenty of DVDs still remaining so if you haven't requested one and would still like one, you can :)

Hi Dan,

I have watched the DVD and although, at the beginning, it did have some footage which was sad to watch of the little lamb which didn't survive and some which was a bit long waiting for the pregnant ewe to give birth but I thought that it gave some insight into what your family have to go through and all the time and care that you give to your sheep.

I did enjoy watching Butterfly and Buttercup (as named by Helen) being bottle-fed by Lynda even though Buttercup wasn't very good at sucking at the bottle.  Then to see them looking much more lively some time later jumping onto the haybales and bucking up courage to climb over the step of the barn to venture out into the wider world of the farmyard.

There are some nice scenes of the lambs and sheep in the fields and of course the shearing of the sheep which is much easier to watch on the television than what we saw on the small square on the Lambwatch site.  It gives a much clearer view.

The wrapping of the haybales near the end of the DVD was fascinating as I had never seen a machine like that before... ....   very clever!!

All in all, I am very happy with the DVD.
