Welcome Back!

Posted: 16 Apr 2009 02:41:14

Good evening everyone...

This is just a notice to inform you that LambWatch website is back... :)

Everything works... except for now ... the chat popup, but this will be enabled tomorrow after the website chat has passed a day's testing :)

It has been very hard work for me to get this site back online but the good news is, the site is now located on a server wholly managed by myself, which means I have complete control over the resources, where they get allocated and how. It also means I can identify and quickly resolve any issues as and when and if they arise.

This has a few benefits in that the site is effectively on a server on its own which means it is no longer sharing resources with any other sites. I have setup the server to maximise performance which should hopefully result in significant improvement of website speed and loading times.

Welcome back to LambWatch... enjoy your stay :)

Thank you, Dan!  I've been spreading the word among all my friends to look at this lovely site, but have told them to be patient as you were just working on it.  It's great fun.  Thanks for all the work.

Dan, I spoke too soon.  Shortly after 2.30 am your time the connection went down again, and now goes off and on.  Rebooting doesn't help.

It's all OK Helen,

I am uploading all the videos for this site and there are about 800MB of them so the stream will be jerky during this time. After it has finished uploading the files (a good few hours!) it will be back smooth again.

Thanks,
Dan

Just as a matter of interest, I think you should know that Dan has literally spent hours setting up the new site... staying up until two and three in the morning after a days work. There is a huge amount of time and effort put into the site and I know the majority of you realise this but I just wanted to let you know as Dan probably will understate the work he does.

You're all very welcome. And mum, I could say the same thing about you and dad in terms of the work you do at lambing time!

I would also like to thank Dan because in the middle of all this he had the time to answer my emails and help me set up my own webcam so I can watch the swallows nesting in my stables.

                                                           THANK YOU DAN
