By the way, the owl we've been hearing at night is probably a tawny owl.

Hello Helen - I am a birdwatcher as well and I agree the owl is probably a tawny owl. I have listened to the different owl calls and the Tawny seems to fit the bill so to speak lol. Happy bird watching!

Thanks, Jackie. I had hoped, but don't know British birds well at all except for a few I can recognise by sight..
